  69. This is a small, freely useable and distributable collection of batch
  70. files and other utility materials for users of the VENDINFO tools.

  72. Since this little collection will probably be updated rather frequently,
  73. it also provides a natural vehicle for distributing the most recent
  74. versions of the CATEGORY.INF file used by all VENDINFO tools, and other
  75. similar items.

  77. Also included are a number of batch files that extend the functionality
  78. available to the VendEdit user.  These functions may eventually reside
  79. inside VendEdit, but are -- at least for now -- provided as separate
  80. batch files that operate on the created VENDINFO.DIZ files.

  84.    ASP_CD.BAT   -- A batch file that automatically prepares the
  85.                    materials necessary for ASP Author Members to submit
  86.                    products for the ASP CD-ROM.  Applicable only if
  87.                    you're an ASP Author or Publisher Member. This batch
  88.                    file checks the content of your VENDINFO.DOZ file for
  89.                    completeness, and prepares a checklist to assist you
  90.                    in completing your submission.

  92.    RGY_ATO.BAT  -- A batch file that automatically constructs an
  93.                    AUTOSIG (off-line mail reader) script for
  94.                    transmitting your VENDINFO file to the VENDINFO
  95.                    Product Registry.  Appends information to
  96.                    UPVNDRGY.SCR.  For usage information, just type
  97.                    RGY_ATO (no arguments).

  99.    RGY_OZCS.BAT -- A batch file that automatically constructs an OzCIS
  100.                    (off-line mail reader) upload script for transmitting
  101.                    your VENDINFO file to the VENDINFO Product Registry.

  103.                    information, just type RGY_OZCS (no arguments).

  105.    RGY_TPCS.BAT -- A batch file that automatically constructs a TAPCIS
  106.                    (off-line mail reader) upload script for transmitting
  107.                    your VENDINFO file to the VENDINFO Product Registry.
  108.                    Appends information to MAIL.SND.  For usage
  109.                    information, just type RGY_TPCS (no arguments).

  111.    SDN_ID.BAT   -- A batch file that assists in preparing product
  112.                    submissions for the Software Distribution Network
  113.                    (SDN).  This batch file prepares: (1) an {SDA.ID}
  114.                    file requiring only a small amount of manual editing;
  115.                    (2) a distribution permission form to be printed,
  116.                    signed, and included; and (3) a checklist to assist
  117.                    you in completing your submission.

  119.    UPL_OZCS.BAT -- A batch file that automatically constructs OzCIS
  120.                    upload scripts from VENDINFO.DIZ information, to
  121.                    help authors automate their CompuServe uploads.
  122.                    Appends information to <forum>.UL.  For usage
  123.                    information, just type UPL_OZCS (no arguments).

  125.    CATEGORY.INF -- The most recent available version of the product
  126.                    category hierarchy originated by Rob Rosenberger,
  127.                    and used by VendEdit, VendPrcs, and VendView to
  128.                    map category numbers into readable text and
  129.                    vice-versa.

  131.    DISTRIBS.ZIP -- A small PKZIP-compressed collection of *.DST files
  132.                    provided by distributors who offer a "fulfillment",
  133.                    or registration-fee-collection service, for shareware
  134.                    authors and publishers.  VendEdit can directly
  135.                    import this information into VENDINFO.DIZ files,
  136.                    allowing the author to easily provide accurate and
  137.                    current information about other distributors of
  138.                    registered versions.
